The system generates Fe-ion through electrolysis of soft steel in the sea water, inject to coolers and condensers and generates film of ferro-oxide on the inner surface of the cooling water copper alloy piping’s to enable protection from corrosion. Copper alloy is widely used as cooling tubes in the various coolers and condenser in the engine room
DEFECON Power Supply Unit
The silicon rectifier convert A.C. into D.C. used for electrolysis. It also comprises of controlling circuits for the operation of the “DEFECON” and protecting circuits for the safety administration.
DEFECON Electrolytic Chamber and Anode
The cell is consist of rubber-lined steel vessel and the square steel blocks in which the sea water is flowed. The electrolysis is made by injecting D.C. currents to the electrode to generate Fe-Ion
DEFECON Flow Meter
To adjust the flow of the sea water into the electrolytic cell, a differential pressure flow meter is used. The flow meter contains a micro switch that suspends the operation of the “DEFECON” in case the flow rate is not in accordance to the setting.
